Home Assist Secure is a State Government program administered in Queensland by the Department of Housing. The Home Assist Secure service aims to remove some of the practical housing-related difficulties experienced by older people and people with a disability who wish to remain living in their home.

Lifeline was founded in 1963 by the late Reverend Dr Sir Alan Walker, after he received a call by a distressed man, who three days later took his own life. Determined not to let loneliness, isolation or anxiety be the cause of other deaths, Sir Alan launched a crisis line, which operated out of the Methodist Central Mission in Sydney.

Lifeline Community Care has 11 geographical centres located across Queensland serving both rural and urban communities. These centres each operate the 24-Hour Crisis Counselling Line, face-to-face counselling services, group and therapeutic programs, community services and retail outlets selling recycled goods and clothing. They also keep a pulse on the local communities they serve.
